What Should We Bring?
Bring food and refreshment for your body—the sailing will provide refreshment for your soul! If you have sailing gloves, or similar, they will come in handy handling the lines (there are limited sets of gloves on board). Certainly a hat, soft sole shoes, sunscreen, and a good attitude could be useful as well.
Provisioning is the responsibility of the guests—though there is a full galley with all the pots, pans, utensils, plates, bowls, cups, on deck cooler, and other implements of destruction and creation that you could desire. Contact the Captain for additional details. Who Controls the Weather?
Summer afternoon thunderstorms are usual around the Bay, so count on the elements. Certainly we may not leave the dock in a bad storm, but once we are out there, we have to deal with the hand dealt, so especially on the multi-day excursions, be prepared for some rain. Your time on Mistress is meant to be enjoyable, so if the weather is threatening or already upon us before we leave the dock, there will be no penalty if we have to cancel.
How are Cancellations Handled? When you book an excursion a $100 deposit will be required. If you decide to cancel within a day of the trip, or don't show, the deposit will be forfeit. If the trip is called for weather, or at the Captain's discretion for some other reason, your deposit will be refunded.
